Linda was a young, vibrant, loving mother of four young
children. Although she was taken at the tender age of 37,
she left enough love, laughter, and memories to last a

The only mystery surrounding Linda’s murder is why California law enforcement is denying Linda justice

Dr. Albert Siu, the Fresno Coroner’s Forensic Pathologist in-charge of Linda’s case, concluded in the Fresno County Coroner's Autopsy Report that Linda was the victim of homicide poisoning.  Click to read; See pg, 7-8  Dr. Siu requested a law enforcement investigation to determine who poisoned Linda.  Click to read

Following are just a few of the documented and verified facts surrounding Linda’s murder:

1.  Linda predicted her death to family and friends and she identified who would do it.  Click to read Affidavits #1 & 2

2.  Linda left behind audio tapes of her husband, Mark Adanalian, accusing her of having an affair and telling her that he hated her.  The audiotapes document that Linda believed Mark was having her followed.  Just prior to her murder, Linda told a friend that Mark said ‘nothing will ever happen me because I’m too well connected and I have too many friends.’  Watch ABC’s 20/20 segment.

3.  Mark was the beneficiary of $265,000 from Linda’s life insurance and IRAs.

4.  Immediately after Linda’s death, Mark’s friend and attorney, Warren Paboojian, falsely signed as Linda’s “brother-in-law” to obtain Linda’s personal belongings from the hospital.  See Website Library.  Later, Warren Paboojian went to Linda’s house and removed all of her medications.

5.  Right after Linda’s death, Mark told people that Linda died from a heart attack, even when the doctors and forensic experts couldn’t figure out why she died.  He even fabricated a story to the Emergency Room doctor that Linda had “chest and left radiating arm pain” in the days before her death.  Linda, however, denied any such symptoms to the emergency room staff prior to her death.  The Emergency Room staff found Mark’s behavior inappropriate and the Coroner was asked to check for nefarious agents.

6.  Mark filed documents in Fresno County Superior Court to stop the Coroner’s office from exhuming Linda’s remains for further toxicology testing.  Mark’s attorney explains that Mark objected to the exhumation for “personal reasons.”  Click to watch interview

7.  Realizing that the exhumation would occur despite his objections, Mark said, “if they find something, I didn’t do it.”  Mark also disparaged Linda’s memory with derogatory comments.  Mark’s attorney explained that Mark has that type of personality.  Click to watch interview

8.  When the poison was discovered, Mark said, he couldn’t have poisoned Linda because he wasn’t smart enough and he wouldn’t know how to.  Click to read Affidavit

9.  But, the evidence proves that before Linda’s death, Mark had explained in detail how a person could get rid of their wife by using an essentially undetectable poison that mimics a heart attack.  Mark told one witness that because California is a community property state, it would probably be cheaper to get rid of his spouse than divorce.  Mark explained that he “could use a poison that would make her heart stop making it look like a heart attack.”  Click to read Affidavit

10.  As overwhelming evidence mounted, Mark talked about his connections in Fresno, saying, “Let them arrest me, I know so many people in this town that I’d never stay in jail.”  Click to read Affidavit

LAW ENFORCEMENT:  Incompetent, Disinterested, or part of a Cover-up…?

Currently, the only mystery surrounding Linda’s murder is why California law enforcement is denying Linda justice. Rather than conduct a legitimate investigation, law enforcement has insulated the primary suspects.  In the face of physical and circumstantial evidence of murder, they run interference for the suspects by disparaging and discrediting the evidence, discouraging witnesses, and stonewalling requests for a genuine investigation.

Ø  Fresno’s Chief Homicide Prosecutor along with her Senior Investigator and a Fresno Police Officer flew to Texas on November 28, 2006, to interview a crucial witness, Linda’s sister, Meg Bakich.  When they insisted on recording her interview and said they would not provide a copy of the audio tape, Meg said she would also record the interview.  Ms. Gamoian and team instructed Meg that she could not tape record even though they were.  Meg, becoming suspicious of their motives, told them ‘either we both tape record or neither of us tape.’  With that, Fresno’s law enforcement team got up and left, returning to Fresno on November 30th without interviewing Meg.

Ø  Over time, it has become apparent that unholy alliances and politics are influencing the investigation into Linda’s murder.  David Hadden, the Fresno Police Department, and the District Attorney’s Office coordinated their stonewalling and plans to discredit the evidence shortly after Linda’s death.

Ø  David Hadden, the former Fresno Coroner, tried to pressure his forensic pathologist to not attribute Linda’s death to a poison, saying it would put him in a “very difficult situation.”  Click to read Affidavit  With his pathologist refusing to yield to undue influence, Hadden called Mark on September 13, 2001, and told him to come down to the office the next day to discuss the case.  Mark told a confidante that Hadden said, by announcing his findings as “undetermined” now, it would pass under the radar because the media was preoccupied with the attack on the twin towers three days earlier.

Ø  Not having conducted a forensic autopsy in almost 20 years and admittedly confused by the complexity of a poisoning, Hadden said that Linda’s death may very well have been caused by selenium poisoning, but he wasn’t sure.  With the Fresno Grand Jury Report accusing him of unethical behavior and breaches of his public office, Hadden opted to leave office.  Click to read Grand Jury Report Investigating Hadden  The employees of the Coroner’s office were relieved to be rid of an abusive Coroner who mis-used his public office for personal gain.  Click to read the Fresno Coroner Employees open letter to the Fresno Bee

Ø  After stepping down, Hadden and Fresno Law Enforcement continued their efforts to distort facts and cover-up evidence of Linda’s murder.  For example, the Chief of Police, Jerry Dyer, currently tells reporters that although he cannot comment on the case, David Hadden is a person who will tell the other side of the story.  When reporters call, Hadden explains that Mark couldn’t have done it because he didn’t know anything about poisoning.  This basically is the same statement that Mark Adanalian made when it was announced that Linda was poisoned.  Hadden, however, is contradicted by evidence showing that Mark had plenty of knowledge about how to poison someone.  Click to read Affidavit

Ø  Working closely with Fresno Law Enforcement, Hadden was elected in 2006 as Coroner, and will take office again in January 2007.  Hadden has confidentially told people that his reason for going back into office is to change Linda’s death certificate by removing poisoning as the cause of death.  The final act designed to terminate the investigation into Linda’s murder.

Ø  While the California Department of Justice (DOJ) has become involved in the case, and a task force created, nothing has changed.  The Fresno Police Department Detective assigned to Linda’s case has admitted to a conflict of interest arising from his connection to Mark and Mark’s attorney, Warren Paboojian.  Despite this obvious conflict, he was kept on the case by Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.  The Detective is now assigned to the case on behalf of the DOJ.  His admitted conflicts of interest have tainted the investigation.

Ø  Independent experts who have analyzed this case and called for Fresno Law Enforcement to conduct a legitimate investigation include:  Mike Bradbury, Ventura County District Attorney for 34 years (Ret.); Lela Henke-Dobroth, Ventura County Homicide Prosecutor (Ret.); Steven J. Twist, former prosecutor and Chief Assistant Arizona Attorney General; John Souza, Homicide Detective (Ret.); Jack Baugh, Chief of the Alameda County Criminal Division (Ret.); Cyril Wecht, internationally renowned forensic pathologist.  See the Website Library for additional independent forensic professionals who have requested the Fresno District Attorney conduct a legitimate investigation.

Ø  It is time for the California Attorney General to take action as the investigation into Linda’s murder has been seriously compromised.  The Attorney General needs to do the right thing and assign this case to a Special Prosecutor who has no connections with the Fresno District Attorney’s office, the Fresno Police Department, Mark Adanalian, or his associates.  It is long past due for a jury of 12 people to give Linda Adanalian her day in court.  When this happens, we are confident that “connections” will not be allowed to place anyone above the law and the actions of those who have attempted to sweep aside Linda’s murder will be exposed.
