Timeline

I.  Prior Medical Record:  February 1999 to February 10, 2000

• February 1999: Linda Seeks Help
  In February 1999, Linda talks with her doctor about marital problems.  Her family physician arranges for intervention

• March 1999: After three sessions, Linda and her husband start joint counseling.

• May 24, 1999: Linda is admitted to the hospital
  Linda is admitted to Saint Agnes hospital with dehydration and orthostatic hypotension. Linda’s medical records state that during the past 10 days, she has intermittently suffered severe nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. She has marked fatigue and some pressure in her head. She has severe weakness and vertigo.

•  May 25, 1999: After 24 hours of IV fluids, Linda is still dehydrated and remains hospitalized. 

• Linda lists her parents, who live in Hawaii, ahead of her husband, to be contacted if she is unable to make medical decisions on her own behalf. 

• May 27, 1999: Linda is discharged from the hospital in a wheel chair without an explanation for her strange illness.
